Mulvaney Named an ‘On the Radar’ Candidate

Thursday, 7. January 2010 11:41

This afternoon, the NRCC has officially announced State Senator Mick Mulvaney as an ‘On the Radar’ candidate, an important step of its Young Guns program.  Founded in the 2007-2008 election cycle by Reps. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Paul Ryan (R-WI), the Young Guns program is a member-driven organization dedicated to electing open-seat and challenger candidates nationwide. Mulvaney is running for South Carolina’s Fifth Congressional District.

“The NRCC is committed to working with Mick Mulvaney as he continues to meet the rigorous goals of the Young Guns program,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions. “Mick Mulvaney is an accomplished leader for South Carolina, and he already has significant momentum behind his campaign. I am confident that he will be successful in his effort to defeat John Spratt, who is a career politician focused on Wall Street bailouts, a National Energy Tax and a government healthcare takeover, not job creation.”

Spratt Will Seek Another Term

Wednesday, 18. November 2009 19:01

According to an interview conducted by FITSNews with a spokesman for Spratt, the Congressman is definitely in the game next year to try and win another term.  Sadly for Spratt, he is going to have to face Mick Mulvaney, a State Senator from Indian Land and unlike the past elections Spratt is used to, facing token candidates, Mulvaney is no slouch.  In Columbia, Mulvaney has been a pillar for limited government and more personal freedom.  This is a tune that is going to ring loud and clear next year as those of us in the Fifth Congressional District get more and more sick of the Federal government leading us down a road to financial bankruptcy and infringements of our liberties, all supported quite enthusiastically by John Spratt.

Help Mick Mulvaney defeat Congressman Spratt next year.  Volunteer your time and/or donate to the campaign.  Even if you can only spare $5, it all adds up.
