Spratt’s Rock Hill Office Picketed

Wednesday, 13. January 2010 22:24

Dozens of protesters camped outside of John Spratt’s Rock Hill office yesterday protesting his folly in support of the failing Obama-Pelosi agenda.  The protest seemed to mostly center around Spratt’s support for the deceptively named Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  It will only be affordable for the 10% of Americans that will get free health insurance funded by a massive increase in the health insurance premiums of the 85% of us in this country already insured.

Oklahoma Democrat Says Party Will Lose Seats

Wednesday, 13. January 2010 22:07

Oklahoma Democratic Congressman Dan Boren told the Tulsa World that he believes his party will lose plenty of seats in this year’s elections because of the bad economic agenda they have pursued in Congress.  He cites specifically the health care bill and Cap and Trade, both destructive pieces of legislation that Congressman John Spratt voted for.  When members of Spratt’s own party are speaking out about the horrible agenda they have pushed, how can we the voters of the Fifth Congressional District allow Spratt another two years in Congress to make more of the same mistakes?

Mulvaney has what it takes to become Spratt’s successor

Tuesday, 12. January 2010 18:00

This is a letter to the editor that ran in The Item today.

I had the opportunity of listening to Mr. Spratt’s successor, and I must say this man has what it will take to replace this congressman. State Sen. Mick Mulvaney spoke from the heart as to what he could see down the road in our great nation. It is my opinion, he could see he light at the end of the tunnel, which in my opinion is an oncoming freight train.

I would like to echo the words of what Mr. Gore had to say this past week as it pertains to what Mr. Spratt has done. I would also like to inform his constituents, that one man isn’t that important as to keep Shaw Air Force Base open. If Mr Spratt is that important, then he should have considered closing McEntire Air National Guard, thereby saving the state and federal government millions of dollars. No, the BRAC Base Realignment and Closure commission decided this. So, now we have McEntire moving into Shaw which will now save millions of dollars.

Editor, you may remember when I conducted a one-man picket outside Spratt’s office in 2001. This man wouldn’t support issues pertinent to the veterans and retired military veterans. Oh, I can guarantee you Mr. Spratt will come on board and claim my display was uncalled for and he did support us. Well, all I can say is I can read and often read what the Library of Congress puts out.

Editor, Mr. Spratt is not the only career politician who needs to be replaced, there are many more just like him. The tea parties are doing a fine job at identifying these. I am certain when Mr. Mulvaney is voted in and takes the oath of office he will do just what he claimed. Additionally, I plan to be at his swearing in ceremony.

Spratt: Federal Involvement in Health Care Justifies More

Thursday, 7. January 2010 11:39

At a City Club breakfast this morning in Rock Hill Jack Spratt made quite a perceptive observation.

Responding to opponents unhappy with more government intervention, Spratt noted the ways Washington is already involved in health care, from Medicare and Medicaid to health care for veterans. An estimated 46 percent of all health care costs are paid by federal and state governments.

“Folks tell me they don’t want medical care made in Washington,” Spratt said. “I understand the sentiment. Here’s the reality: The federal government has a huge stake in health care already.”

The Herald

It doesn’t even occur to ole Bubba that all this Federal involvement in our health care system might be the big problem.

Spratt Votes With Pelosi 97.8% of the Time

Thursday, 31. December 2009 15:56

A letter to the editor was published in the Sumter Item that references a Washington Post article indicating that John Spratt has voted with the ultra left Nancy Pelosi and other far left leaders of the Democrat Party 97.8% of the time.  Excuse me, but does this sound like the voting record of someone considered to be a “moderate” Democrat?

Spratt Supports Keeping the Death Tax

Saturday, 26. December 2009 18:45

Death Tax

Imagine you’ve worked hard your whole life.   You have a nice home in a safe neighborhood and good schools for your family.  You send your kids to a great college so that they can get a good education and make a life for themselves.  You’ve been responsible and save for retirement and after all of these years of work and success you expect to be able to leave that for your family so that they’ll be taken care of after you’re gone.

John Spratt doesn’t think you should be able to do that.  This is his statement on the repeal of the Death Tax.

“The total repeal would have substantial additional impact on revenues,” said Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C. “And this is also a time when we need to — we simply can’t be profligate about tax cuts. And we think we struck a good balance.”

The Herald-Dispatch

Ask yourself if this is the representation you want in Congress for another two years or longer?
