If a Democrat Can Lose in Massachusetts, So Can Spratt

Last night the unthinkable happened.  A Republican won the U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts.  This is something that hasn’t happened since 1972 and Massachusetts is a state where the Democrats enjoy a super majority in the state legislature, with Republicans holding only about 15% of state legislative seats in both chambers.  No Republicans hold any state wide offices and none have won a U.S. House race since 1994.

If an entrenched Democrat state like Massachusetts can elect a Republican to the U.S. Senate, Jack Spratt ought to be quaking in his boots right about now.

And he most surley is. Clearly, this is a point on Spratt. After his mass emailing on the prior Friday stating his position on Health Care, it was clear that it was a “Bad Call” on his part to state before Tuesday. Now, calls to his office are unreturned. Emails bounce. Fear has set in. Well, Spratt supporters, think things are tough now? Wait till John hits the campaign trail.
